The GRADUATE PROGRAM IN GENETICS AT THE FEDERAL UNIVERSITY OF MINAS GERAIS (UFMG) , founded in 1997 and implemented in 1998, offers Master's (since 1998) and Doctoral (since 2003) courses. Assessed as level 6 by CAPES, its main objective is to train professionals capable of developing research, teaching and extension with excellence in the different areas of Genetics.

The Program has three main areas of concentration: (1) Evolutionary and Population Genetics; (2) Molecular Genetics, Microorganisms and Biotechnology; (3) Genomics and Bioinformatics. Currently, there are a total of 32 master's and 60 doctoral students on the board of students. The program's publications focus on international journals classified in the quality indicative strata A and B of the CAPES Qualis system.

In celebration of the 20 years of existence of the UFMG POSTGRADUATE GENETICS PROGRAM , we are pleased to present the GENE TIME Conference! An event that will have participants from the academic area and also from the entire community, gathered in lectures, round tables, mini-courses, discussions and poster presentations. The event seeks to bring together different research groups, new collaborations and high-quality scientific and personal exchanges.
